About Carin

Born in Holland, Carin moved to South Africa as a teenager. Prior to relocating to the USA in 2005 with her husband and 3 kids, Carin led a highly successful graphics design and printing business in SA. While in the USA, Carin completed her Commercial Interior Design diploma and later on her NCIDQ certification. She has lived in NC, WI and now resides in CO. in her earlier years in design she focused on commercial design. Carin has spent collectively 14 years in residential and commercial Interior design. She started Six Sides Design in 2019 and has focused on higher end residential custom builds and intricate remodel design build projects as well as maintaining her interest in boutique / specialty commercial projects.

Carin’s attention to detail, together with her strong interest in space planning, finishes, functionality and flow of spaces, and completion of construction documents provides a broad spectrum of skills. Knowing how many decisions need to be made during the build process, she is highly capable of making the many choices in a timely manner to facilitate a speedier build out, as well as providing interior construction drawings with elevation and 3D details for the trade and finish binders with design intent boards. In so doing, she has been able to prevent unnecessary construction mistakes and delivering on her goal of zero change orders. Carin’s extensive user experience and knowledge enables her to provide a refreshing and different perspectives for her clients, all the while ensuring that their specific needs and requirements are met throughout the design build process. As Carin is NCIDQ certified she is also able submit for interior construction permits if no architect is assigned to the project. Alternatively we are happy to work collaboratively with any architect the client has chosen.

In her spare time she likes to ski, hike with her husband and 2 dogs. And loves to spend time whenever she can with her kids and her 2 grandsons.
